While he may be spending a lot of his time trying to put together an ownership group to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves these days, that doesn’t mean former Boston Celtics big man icon Kevin Garnett has forgotten about the team where he won his sole title.
And in the Celtics Game 7 contest taking place tonight at 9 pm Eastern Time, the Boston legend has made it clear which of the two teams he is backing for the win.
Obviously, the Big Ticket is taking the Celtics to secure the win and advance to face the Miami Heat in the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals, which would be their third such trip that deep in the postseason in four years.

Garnett, who played for Boston between 2007 and 2013 (winning Banner 17 there in 2008), wrote “Got the C’s for game 7…. PERIOD… LET’S GOOO” on his Instagram account shared in the tweet above by The Athletic’s Jay King.
What better way to get ready for a game 7 than spending the morning talking with Tommy and the Cooz. Bob is 92, Tommy is 86 and both are going strong. They think the C’s win if they defend for all 48 and take the ball to the hoop. Oh yeah, Tommy says “you gotta run!!!” #Celtics

Boston all-time legends Bob Cousy and Tommy Heinsohn concur with KG according to Celtics play-by-play announcer Mike Gorman — so long as they defend the full 48 minutes to the best of their abilities, run and take the ball to the hoop.
That’s a pretty solid triumvirate of confidence votes if ever there was one.
hough it’s pretty inconceivable that they’d be open about taking another team anyway given who they are, so take that with a grain of salt.
