It might be time to start getting a little concerned about the availability of Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.

When the predictable Wednesday injury report came in, Atkins’ name popped up alongside the likes of Mike Daniels as guys who missed. That’s not unusual for Atkins to have a veteran’s day and Zac Taylor has been noticeably cautious with veterans like A.J. Green this summer.

Then Atkins missed again Thursday.

Here’s a look at the guys who missed Thursday’s work:

  • Geno Atkins
  • Shawn Williams
  • LeShaun Sims

Darius Phillips and Mike Daniels were also limited.

Atkins currently has an ironman streak of more than 90 games going and considering his position was one of the spots hit most by injuries this summer, it’d put more pressure than usual on guys like D.J. Reader to have big performances in the opener.

Friday will decide it all for Atkins, but it doesn’t look great. As for A.J. Green, he says he’s 100 percent and even got in some extra work with Joe Burrow recently.
