The “Collinsworth Slide” has become a fun thing over the past few seasons in which Cris Collinsworth slides into his intro segment with Al Michaels at the start of Sunday Night Football broadcasts. There’s no good reason for its popularity, besides the fact that it’s just a goofy and fun thing that would take over social media for a while each week.
Good, clean, fun. Remember that?
Well, Collinsworth is no longer able to do his slide this season because of COVID-19 and the important social distancing that has come with it.
NBC is doing tonight’s season opener between the Texans and Chiefs and fans were rightly bummed that this goofy, fun thing we enjoyed is no longer a thing:
No Cris Collinsworth slide…2020 is the worst.

Times like this we need The Collinsworth Slide more than ever. Have faith…trust the process. The Slide Wizard will be back. Was never a Thursday night tradition anyway…

Al and Chris are social distancing in the booth. No Collinsworth slide.
2020 is the worst.

Covid-19 took away the Collinsworth slide.
Too far corona, too far.
