Caris LeVert: Kyrie Irving is ‘probably one of the best teammates I’ve had’

Caris LeVert doesn’t think Kyrie Irving is covered by the media the same way other athletes are.

Caris LeVert thinks Kyrie Irving is misunderstood.

Although the Brooklyn Nets wing understands Irving has never been shy about sharing what’s on his mind on anything or standing by what he believes is right, LeVert doesn’t think Irving is necessarily covered by the media fairly.

Especially when it comes to Irving as a teammate.

So when given the chance to talk about Irving on The Ringer’s R2C2 podcast, LeVert made sure to give his teammate a glowing review:

Kyrie is probably one of the best teammates I’ve had. So, honestly, it’s crazy when people talk about him being a bad teammate or, you know, the things that they say about him. I think he said it best this year: he’s human. Everybody’s human. Just because he’s a great player, he’s still a human being. At the end fo the day, he has feelings. He feels strongly about certain things, but he’s a great teammate, great guy. I think if you ask anybody on the Nets, they would tell you the same thing. I can’t speak on his prior teams and things like that. But, since he’s been with the Nets, since he’s been with us, he’s been a great guy, great teammate. Great guy to learn from, great guy to go to war with, and we can’t wait for next year. I think it’s going to be really special.
