Serena Williams is the best to ever do it. Hands down. No ifs, ands or buts about it. She’s just incredible. And she doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.
Case in point, she had two of the most incredible volleys you’ll ever see on a tennis court in her U.S. Open matchup against Tsvetana Pironkova on Wednesday.
She lost the first set to Pironkova 4-6. But just like literally every other match so far in this tournament, after struggling early she bounced back quickly and with force.
She won the best point of the match after a 24-shot volley that felt like it lasted an entire hour. It was clear she was gassed. Didn’t matter. She kept going.

That’s not all, though. She also hit two left handed returns and won both points during the match.
Lefty, righty, it doesn't matter for @serenawilliams.

Whew. Williams was really in her bag with that one. Good luck to the competition. It definitely looks like they’re going to need it going forward.
