Many players have to wait months or even years to make their true starting debut in an NFL uniform. Kenneth Murray is not like most players.
The former Sooners linebacker went 23rd overall in this year’s NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Chargers. And now, after an offseason filled with high praise for Murray coming out of the Chargers’ camp, he’s slated to make his starting debut in the first week of his career.
LA released their first depth chart on Tuesday, and Murray was listed as one of three starters at linebacker.
The anticipation has been overflowing for Murray this season. In July, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein listed Murray as a top-three candidate for the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
In July, Murray inked his rookie deal—worth $13 million.
