The 16-man practice squad a new rule that could apply only to 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The increase of six players allows the team to have vested veterans on the squad. They currently have four (Theo Riddick, Datone Jones, Chris Smith, and Kyle Emanuel).
Two practice squad players may be made available each week without promoting them to the active roster if they’re not made active on game day.
