KNOXVILLE — Bradley Jones enters his junior season of college football in 2020.
Jones, a 6-foot-2, 206-pound defensive back, played at Stratford High School in Nashville. After high school, he played at Memphis during the 2017 season.
Maurice Fitzgerald served as Jones’ head coach at Stratford. He is now the head coach at Hillsboro High School in Nashville.
Fitzgerald discussed Jones playing at Tennessee in 2020 and a role that he can take on this season with the Vols.
“He does not mind hitting,” Fitzgerald told Vols Wire of Jones. “I think he can be a tremendous special teams guy. They aren’t going to outwork him and he is going to give everything he’s got. He has physical ability.”
Jones played cornerback and wide receiver for Fitzgerald at Stratford.
In 27 games at Stratford, Jones totaled 106 tackles, three interceptions, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble. He also had 18 catches for 189 receiving yards.
Fitzgerald mentioned Jones “has the athletic ability” and “needs to find his place” at Tennessee.
“His frame is big enough to be a safety,” Fitzgerald said of Jones. “He is not the fastest in the world, but he has good speed.”
