Former Packers WR Jake Kumerow joining Bills’ practice squad

Former Packers WR Jake Kumerow is signing with the Buffalo Bills, per NFL Network.

Former Green Bay Packers receiver Jake Kumerow is landing in Buffalo.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Kumerow is expected to join the Bills’ practice squad.

In a somewhat surprising move, the Packers released Kumerow, who caught 20 passes over the last two seasons, during final roster cutdowns on Saturday.

Kumerow, a fan favorite after playing college football at UW-Whitewater, played 19 games for the Packers. He caught 20 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns over the last two seasons, including career-highs in catches (12) and receiving yards (219) last year.

The Packers kept Malik Taylor over Kumerow on the initial 53-man roster. Taylor overcame long odds to beat out Kumerow and three others for a roster spot at receiver.
