Prediction

Indians 5, Brewers 2

Moneyline (ML)

We are getting a nice price for the Indians (-118) because they lost 7-1 to the Brewers (+105) Friday. Milwaukee’s lineup is bottom-5 in several categories and Cleveland’s pitching staff is one of baseball’s best.

Left-handed batters have a 45-point higher batting average and a 51-point higher on-base percentage against Woodruff and Cleveland’s first four batters are switch-hitters. The Indians have better numbers against righties and the Brewers hit worse against right-handed pitchers.

I “LIKE” INDIANS (-118). New to sports betting? A $118 bet on the Indians (-118) earns a $100 profit if Cleveland can beat Milwaukee.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The run line splits are inspiring enough to look at the alternate line of INDIANS -1.5 (+170). Cleveland has the fifth-best run line record (23-15 RL) and Milwaukee is tied with the Texas Rangers with the worst RL record (13-24 RL). The hope is that the top of Cleveland’s order gets to Woodruff early before he settles in and the Indians coast to a victory.

Let’s make a lighter wager, mostly to maximize the profit of betting Cleveland in this spot. A $50 bet on Indians -1.5 (+170) earns an $85 profit if Cleveland wins by two or more runs.

Over/Under (O/U)

While Milwaukee’s lineup has struggled this season, Cleveland is right down there in the bottom-5 of several hitting categories. The Under is 3-0-2 in the last five meetings and Cleveland has the 2nd-highest Under percentage in MLB (31%).

Since we are on the Indians pretty heavily, we are hoping for them to rake against Milwaukee’s pitching staff and I’ll PASS ON THE TOTAL OF 7.5 RUNS.
