Report: Titans release 2019 5th-round pick D’Andre Walker

Walker was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2019.

The biggest surprise cut of the day so far for the Tennessee Titans might be outside linebacker and fifth-round pick, D’Andre Walker.

According to Justin Melo of Draft Wire, the Titans are reportedly parting ways with the second-year player ahead of the Saturday’s roster cut deadline.

Walker missed his entire rookie campaign after suffering an injury in training camp last year. He seemed to be doing well in training camp and making progress, and with the Titans’ issues at outside linebacker it was thought he could carve out a role.

Apparently that is not the case, and instead Walker will hit the waiver wire. As Melo notes, it’s possible the Titans add him to the practice squad if he passes through.

In other outside linebacker news, Melo is also reporting that 2019 UDFA, Derick Roberson, has made the team’s 53-man roster. It was once thought that perhaps Walker could challenge him for snaps.
