[autotag]Deiveson Figueiredo[/autotag] wants to let [autotag]Cody Garbrandt[/autotag] know that he’s in for a rude awakening at UFC 255.
Newly crowned flyweight champion Figueiredo (19-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) will make his first title defense against former bantamweight champion Garbrandt (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) in the main event on Nov. 21 and the Brazilian is already stoking the fire ahead of the matchup.
Figueiredo claimed the vacant UFC flyweight title in July by finishing Joseph Benavidez for the second straight time. After dropping Benavidez multiple times in the rematch, Figueiredo then became the first man to submit the perennial flyweight contender.
Meanwhile, Garbrandt snapped his three-fight losing skid with a spectacular buzzer-beater knockout of Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250 in June. Now he will make the drop to 125 pounds for the first time in his career to challenge newly crowned champ Figueiredo for the flyweight strap.
But, ahead of their title clash, Figueiredo has sent “No Love” a message warning him of what’s to come when they square off.
“@cody_nolove you think you are going to take my Belt? I go to sleep dreaming of taking your head off!!!! I wake up thinking of knocking you out. my whole day is dedicated to putting you to sleep!!!! Cody vc pensa que vai tirar meu cinturão, Eu durmo e acordo pensando em nocautear vc, Estou focado e determinado a arrancar a tua cabeça👊🏽”
