As kick off for an incredibly unique 2020 season approaches, USA TODAY’s Paul Myerberg provided each SEC team’s outlook, and predicted the order of finish and all-conference players in his SEC Preview.
Myerberg predicted Alabama to win the West and Georgia to win the East, as the Vols are slated to finish third in the division behind Florida.
“Progress in developing depth across the board means Tennessee will be less reliant on newcomers than a year ago, when true freshmen occupied key starting roles on both sides of the ball,” Myerberg wrote.
“That’s one marker of the program’s momentum under Jeremy Pruitt. There will still be roles for impressive newcomers such as wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, who is already drawing strong reviews.”
Myerberg predicted only two Tennessee players on his All-Conference list, in offensive lineman Trey Smith and kicker Brent Cimaglia.
