Steve Nash has been working for a winning franchise for some time now, having been a player development consultant for the Golden State Warriors over the last five years.
Of course, during that time, Nash crossed paths with some of the game’s best players in Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant — the latter of the three now being one of his players in Brooklyn.
It’s no accident someone Durant has crossed paths with in the past is now Brooklyn’s new head coach. Even though Nash hasn’t held the title of “head coach” in the NBA until now, this is someone Durant has dealt with personally, and according to Marc Spears of The Undefeated, the Hall of Fame point guard has Durant’s “confidence.”
“He’s one of the greatest players I’ve ever seen,” Nash told The Undefeated, “and to have his confidence is really important.”
Kevin Durant called Steve Nash before he signed with the Warriors and was originally introduced to him by Nets assistant Adam Harrington.
