The NFL season is less than two weeks away and fantasy football is becoming a realistic hobby that fans can partake in this year.
Figuring out who to draft in the early rounds isn’t usually a difficult process, but finding late-round gems is a different scenario. It takes time and research to find out which players have potential to fly under the radar and make an impact on your fantasy squad.
New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry is one of those players, and the release of Mohamed Sanu solidifies that. The 2019 first-round draft pick missed a majority of his rookie year with injuries, but was able to shine in the games he played. He’s 6-foot-4, 225 pounds and that’ll make him the most potent redzone target for Cam Newton this season.
Harry pulled in 12 receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns in seven games last year. He was coming off an ankle injury toward the end of the season and just didn’t have enough in-game experience to thrive immediately in pressure situations. The numbers gave off the idea that Harry was a bust and that he won’t carry much value this season fantasy-wise.
With Sanu’s departure — you have to consider the fact that a 34-year-old Julian Edelman is the only player who will present some competition. The pool of talent drops immediately after Harry on the depth chart. With all of this information, it may be smart to consider Harry a WR2 or a flex option that gets drafted in the mid-rounds.

Harry’s projected for 80 targets, 47 receptions, 589 yards and four touchdowns by ESPN — but, that was prior to Sanu’s release. The Patriots have a whole crew of running backs, but the tight end and receiver corps are extremely slim. Newton has always enjoyed taller receivers in his arsenal and Harry checks every box for a player that fits his quarterback style.
As long as he’s healthy this season, there’s no doubt that Harry will make an impact on a weekly basis. Draft him and you won’t regret it.
