Lakers-Blazers likely to resume their playoff series on Saturday

It looks like the NBA is going to take the rest of the week off before resuming the playoffs later this weekend.

After a collective strike on Wednesday forced the NBA playoffs to shut down, players on Thursday voted to resume the season and finish out the playoffs. The NBA announced that they hope to resume the playoffs either Friday or Saturday, but with some talks still ongoing well into the evening on Thursday, it seems more likely than not that there will be some discussions between players and team owners on Friday. As far as the Los Angeles Lakers’ schedule is concerned, they are most likely to play Game 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

The Lakers still have the opportunity to close out their series against the Blazers on Saturday, holding a 3-1 series lead. The Blazers will be without Damian Lillard for quite a while and Lillard left the Orlando bubble on Thursday to start treatment on his sprained right knee. We will update this story when the new game time for Game 5 has been decided.
