Creeping closer to the end of the month, we arrive on this Thursday amidst the chaos of the protests in Wisconsin along with the destruction inflicted by Hurricane Laura upon the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Texas. With a heavy heart, we bring you today’s news.
Looking ahead towards spring, the Big Ten’s plan to play college football in early 2021 includes using NFL domed stadiums as venues, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Playing in domes would eliminate one of the major issues for having a winter season, especially in northern-most Big Ten schools, including Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Over in Kansas, head coach Les Miles is skeptical of COVID-19 opt-out benefits, stating, “They opt into the pandemic.” There is also news that at least one Jayhawk player has elected to sit out.
Across the border up in Georgia, UGA loses key wide receiver Dominick Blaylock to a second knee injury. The sophomore sustained another torn ACL to his left knee and will miss the season.
In college basketball news, former Ole Miss star and incendiary personality Marshall Henderson is joining the staff of Rebels coach Kermit Davis. Henderson is returning to Mississippi as a graduate manager, the school announced on Tuesday.
