WATCH: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce mic’d up during training camp

The entertaining veteran tight end got the mic at Kansas City Chiefs training camp recently.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was mic’d up at training camp this past week. In his usual fashion, Kelce gets things started by joking around with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

“Hey, were you guys just talking about a new play just for me,” Kelce teased. “Yeah? I knew it.”

He continued by joking with Chiefs TE coach Tom Melvin, who was standing close to Kelce while tight ends hit the sled.

“Why are you so close to me, Tom?”

Then he turned his attention to Nick Keizer, who has been emerging as the No. 2 tight end in Kansas City.

“Keizer, are you old enough to know who Tim ‘The Toolman’ Taylor is,” referencing Tim Allen’s character in “Home Improvement.”

After a brief encounter with fullback Anthony Sherman, you get to see Kelce take the field for some action. First a quick glance at team drills and then some one-on-one blocking drills. He has reps in coverage against Anthony Hitchens, Dorian O’Daniel and Daniel Sorensen, making catches each time.

To end the video, Jordan Ta’amu and Travis Kelce get into it about pineapple on pizza as a topping. Kelce is shocked to find out that Ta’amu isn’t a fan of pineapple on pizza.

One thing is for certain, Kelce knows how to entertain while he’s on the practice field. If mic’d up was a competition, everyone else has some work to do in order to get on Kelce’s level.
