With the Brooklyn Nets’ season done, it’s time for Sean Marks to conduct a full search for the franchise’s next head coach.

Even though the Brooklyn Nets have their two cornerstone players ready to go for the 2020-21 season, this offseason is set to be a fairly busy one for the franchise.

Among the things on Nets general manager Sean Marks’ to-do list is hire a new permanent head coach.

Jacque Vaughn remains an obvious candidate for the position after his strong run with the team during his time as interim head coach.

While there are other quality candidates being considered for the position, some Nets players like the idea playing for Vaughn in the long haul — including Caris LeVert, who spoke highly of the Nets head coaching candidate on a Zoom call with reporters after Brooklyn’s Game 4 loss, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post:

It’d be huge. If you ask anybody who was a part of JV’s two games before the cut-off and then the whole experience here, they’ll tell you he’s very deserving of the job. He’s done a great job down here winning with less.

Because Nets governor Joe Tsai wants a full search for done to fill the Nets job, Marks can’t name Vaughn the permanent head coach yet. But, he has a chance.
