Under normal circumstances, a game-winning buzzer-beater in a home playoff game would bring a raucous reaction from a packed arena. But these aren’t normal circumstances.
That didn’t stop the in-arena scene from being awesome, though.
Luka Doncic carried the Mavericks to a Game 4 overtime win against the Clippers on Sunday, posting a triple-double on 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists. Oh, and he hit the game-winning 3 at the buzzer to even the series.
Now, during the broadcast from the NBA bubble, we had Mike Breen’s call and piped-in crowd noise providing a somewhat normal television-viewing experience for a huge shot like that.
But inside the arena, it sounded totally different.

We could hear as the Mavericks bench erupted to the shot.
In a playoff game (or any NBA game, really), it would be inconceivable to actually hear the players’ real-time reaction to a buzzer-beater. But in this video, we could.
And it was pretty great. The bubble isn’t so bad, after all.
