KNOXVILLE — A University of Tennessee recruiting target opened his junior season with a big game and a victory Friday night.
Oak Ridge High School running back Kendall Jackson rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Wildcats’ 40-0 victory at Knoxville’s Hardin Valley Academy in the 2020 season opener for both schools.
Jackson, a highly-touted class of 2021 recruit, toted the ball 15 times in the win, which avenged a season-opening loss to the Hawks last year.
His touchdown run at HVA was an 18-yard scamper as he dragged several defenders to the end zone with him en route to giving the Wildcats a 13-0 lead.
Jackson also has scholarship offers from Arizona, Tulane and Eastern Kentucky.
