Oklahoma lands commitment from four-star 2021 DT Kelvin Gilliam

Oklahoma is hitting the Washington D.C. metro are and surrounding states hard in the upcoming recruiting class. The Sooners landed coveted quarterback, Washington D.C. native and No. 1 overall quarterback Caleb Williams on July 4. Then, Virginia native Damond Harmon on Aug. 1.

Four-star defensive tackle Kelvin Gilliam was choosing between Oklahoma, Penn State and South Carolina on Saturday night. His decision came on CBS Sports HQ moments ago.

Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has landed his second four-star defensive tackles in as many days as Gilliam just announced his commitment to Oklahoma.

The Highland Springs, Virginia, native is listed as the 104th best recruit in the 2021 recruiting class according to Rivals. He’s rated as the ninth-best defensive tackle in the country and the fourth-best player in the state of Virginia.

Gilliam holds offers from LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, as well as Penn State and South Carolina.

Oklahoma now has four commitments along the defensive line in Isaiah Coe, Ethan Downs, Nathan Rawlings-Kibonge and Gilliam. The Sooners have 14 commitments in the 2021 recruiting class and the class was ranked 16th in the country prior to his commitment.
