Bryson DeChambeau is back playing golf after a week off and it didn’t take long for him to have another classic Bryson DeChambeau moment.
DeChambeau, who has become the fun villain that golf needs right now, has been struggling a bit in his first round at the Northern Trust Open in Boston, which is the first round of the PGA Tour playoffs.
While no fans are allowed at the event, somebody kind of close to him was apparently a little talkative during one of his shots and DeChambeau was not too happy about it.
Here he is informing the people that “sound travels,” in case they didn’t know that:
Bryson being Bryson @TheNTGolf:
“Do you mind talking a little quieter over there please. I can hear you from all the way over there, sound travels.” pic.twitter.com/SfDaJXvnHM— Fantasy Golf Pod (@fantasygolfpod) August 20, 2020
Is it annoying when people talk during your swing? Yes, absolutely. Was Bryson right to tell them to quiet down a little bit? Yes, absolutely. Was that “sound travels” line at the end a little much? Yes, absolutely
But it is classic DeChambeau and I’m all for moments like these. Golf needs some personalities out there, and he’s certainly that.
Twitter wasn’t impressed:

Bryson DeChambeau just asked some spectators to be quiet and it really bothered me. I respect the quiet nature of golf, but if you can't handle a little bit of chatter 50 yards away then just pack up your clubs and go home.

I am bored with Bryson DeChambeau. There is always something with this guy.

It isn’t a golf Thursday without Bryson Dechambeau yelling at someone after his swing.
