Glenn Robinson III out for Game 1 vs. Celtics with oblique strain

Philadelphia 76ers forward Glenn Robinson III is out for Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics.

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set to take on the Boston Celtics on Monday to begin the 2020 NBA Playoffs and they will be doing so without their star player in Ben Simmons.

They will also have to go to work without one of their key rotation pieces off the bench in Glenn Robinson III. The veteran out of Michigan suffered a left hip pointer injury in the team’s second scrimmage game and that caused him to only play two seeding games due to the injury.

Further evaluation of the injury revealed that he now has an oblique strain and he is now officially out for the game on Monday and a few more after that. He will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days and the Sixers hope he can get back on the floor soon.

Coach Brett Brown has said in the past how important Robinson III will be to Philadelphia so this is another tough blow to their hopes of finding the right perimeter defenders against the Celtics. [lawrence-related id=36838,36834,36831]
