The Texas Rangers (10-9) are going for a three-game series sweep against the Colorado Rockies (12-8) Sunday at 3:10 p.m. ET at Coors Field. Below, we analyze the Rangers-Rockies MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.
Rangers at Rockies: Projected starting pitchers
LHP Kolby Allard vs. RHP Jon Gray
Allard in 2020: 0-0 with a 1.00 ERA (9 K, 1 ER in 9 IP) over 2 starts.
- The 23-year-old is in just his third season in the majors and has made only 14 appearances, including 12 starts, in his career.
- He has never pitched against the Rockies and has faced only seven current Colorado batters (.429 batting average allowed).
Gray in 2020: 0-2 with a 6.41 ERA (9 K, 14 ER in 19 2/3 IP) over 4 starts.
- Career vs. Rangers: 0-0 with a 5.29 ERA (7 ER, 12 K in 9 2/3 IP) over 2 starts.
- He pitched a 4 2/3-inning no-decision in the Rockies’ 3-2 win over the Rangers on July 25. Gray struck out three, walked three and surrendered one earned run.

Moneyline (ML)
The ROCKIES (-134)—who are known for their hitter-friendly ballpark—have been much better on the road this season with a 6-2 record. Sunday‘s starter, Gray, has the exact same ERA for both home and away at 4.52 for his career.
The Rangers (+120) have struggled on the road and have a 3-5 record. Their pitching, in particular, has been bad in away games with a 3.00 ERA at home and a 5.26 ERA on the road.
Colorado has a dangerous lineup, which is ranked second in runs scored per game and fourth in OPS and should make it a short outing for Allard.
BET THE ROCKIES (-134) to get to the young Allard and prevent the three-game sweep. New to sports betting? A $134 wager on the Rockies (-134) earns a $100 profit if Colorado beats Texas outright.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
Colorado is due for a breakout game offensively against Texas. In their five head-to-heads so far this season, the Rockies have scored five runs just once and are 3-2 in those games. Even if they don’t light up Allard, they could add to a lead against a Rangers bullpen that’s 21st in ERA (5.00) and WHIP (1.34).
PUT a SMALL WAGER on the ROCKIES -1.5 (+135) on the alternate spread. New to sports betting? A $50 bet on the Rockies -1.5 (+135) returns a $67.50 profit if Colorado beats Texas by two or more runs.
Over/Under (O/U)
Let’s buck the current trend of five consecutive Unders in Rangers-Rockies and TAKE OVER 12.5 (-110). We might need the Rockies to do the bulk of the scoring but again I am projecting a good game for their lineup.
It’s only a lean for me because the number is so high and these teams have a combined 17-21-1 Over/Under record in 2020.
