The LSU Tigers signed the No. 1 tight end in the 2020 recruiting cycle when Arik Gilbert, a five-star talent and the No. 5 overall player, picked the defending champions.
LSU has been actively recruiting some of the top tight ends in the nation for the 2021 class and once again are finalists for the top tight end prospect in the country in Thomas Fidone.
On Friday, Fidone announced when he would be making his college commitment, via his Twitter account.

Fidone, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end from Lewis Central High in Council Bluffs, Iowa., previously dropped his top four schools and LSU made the cut.
Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Penn State are Fidone’s other finalists.
While Iowa and Nebraska could prove tough to beat for Fidone, he is extremely high on the defending champions, according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
Theyâve been talking to me a lot. I want to take an official there. I liked the way they used Thaddeus Moss. I think they couldâve used him more and I think they wanted to. Theyâre looking for their tight end to be more of a receiver type and stretch the field and make things happen after the catch.
LSU currently has the No. 7 class for the 2021 recruiting cycle and appears poised for another top-five finish.
