Moneyline (ML)
The ATHLETICS (-189) are a little more expensive than I am comfortable with in making plays. My ceiling is usually -170, but I’ll make an exception for this Bay Bridge interleague series opener. Montas has been spinning it well so far this season, while Cueto is still knocking off rust after being limited in 2019 and he has not quite rounded into form.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
The ATHLETICS (-1.5, -110) salvaged the series set at the Los Angeles Angels, winning 8-4 Thursday. In their past three wins, the A’s have won by two or more runs, and seven of their past eight victories have been by two or more runs. Look for the A’s to add to those numbers.
Over/Under (O/U)
OVER 8.5 (-110) is the play as the A’s have hit the Over in three of their past four outings. While the Giants have struggled offensively, averaging just 4.25 runs per game to rank 23rd in the majors, they’re a dismal 24th in the league in ERA (5.10) and 26th in WHIP (1.42). They’re giving up a ton of runs, so keep thumping the Over in Frisco games.
