The Green Bay Packers created an open roster spot by subtracting a recent addition on defense.
The team announced the release of outside linebacker Jamal Davis on Monday.
Davis, an undrafted free agent from Akron, was originally claimed off of waivers from the Miami Dolphins on April 21. Davis played in three games with the Dolphins last season.
Both of the players claimed by the Packers from the Dolphins in April – Davis and defensive lineman Gerald Willis – are no longer on the roster.
The Packers have Tim Williams, Randy Ramsey, Greg Roberts, Jonathan Garvin, Tipa Galeai and Delontae Scott behind Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith and Rashan Gary at outside linebacker.
