The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with quite a few health issues, particularly in the backcourt. Rajon Rondo left the bubble a few weeks ago after breaking his hand in practice, which required surgery. However, the good news for the Lakers is that Rondo is already rehabbing and in the Orlando-area, although he’s not actually in the NBA Bubble yet.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports and the NBA on TNT reported during the Lakers loss on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers that Rondo has already made his return to Florida and has been working out with Lakers front office staffer Kurt Rambis. The hope, according to Haynes, is to have Rondo back in the NBA Bubble at some point during the first round of the playoffs, which start next Monday.

The Lakers will face the winner of the Western Conference play-in series, which already has a Game 1 scheduled for Saturday. A Game 2, if necessary, will be played on Sunday. Given the fact that there could be a back-to-back, it would make sense that LeBron and the Lakers don’t start their series until Tuesday if the play-in goes to a second game.
