WATCH: Talking Boston’s defense with Semi Ojeleye pregame

Boston has seen their fortunes improve along with the increased care they’ve given defense, and this is how they plan to continue that trend.

All the defensive intensity that was missing from the Boston Celtics in their earlier games inside the Disney ‘bubble,’ the team has been bringing to bear and then some in their more recent games.

And the results couldn’t be clearer, with a pair of blowout wins against the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors that were sparked by the Celtics playing some of their best defense of the 2019-20 season — both before and after the pandemic hiatus.

As the team gets ready to face the Orlando Magic on Sunday afternoon, defense will once again be a focus for the Celtics as they work to get their play to the level the playoffs will require.

Speaking with team reporter Amanda Pflugrad, forward Semi Ojeleye spoke about how the defensive side of the ball figures into Boston’s plans to prepare for the postseason and play in the present.

Watch the clip embedded above to get up to speed on the Celtics’ approach to maximizing their defensive rotations, a critical element of their game whether they are playing the Magic — or in the Finals.
