How many games will the Jacksonville Jaguars win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.
Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2019 season
The 2019 season for the Jaguars couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start. In the opening game, QB Nick Foles injured his shoulder and missed most of the season. They were then forced to start a sixth-round pick at quarterback in Gardner Minshew for most of the season.
The Jaguars were up and down for most of the year, and finished the season at 6-10 and in fourth-place in the AFC South.
Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2020 offseason changes
While the Jaguars didn’t make a change at starting quarterback after trading Foles to the Chicago Bears, nearly every other position was upgraded in the offseason.
The team used its two first-round picks on the defensive side of the ball, selecting CB CJ Henderson and DE K’Lavon Chaisson. The team also used free agency to upgrade their roster, signing LB Joe Schobert and TE Tyler Eifert.

Projected wins: 5 … OVER: +135 / UNDER: -164
The Jaguars are in the midst of a rebuild after tearing down a 2017 roster that reached the AFC Championship game. While the team does have a lot of talent on defense, it’s the offense that needs some time to retool.
The 2020 season will be a success if Minshew proves to be a franchise quarterback, but don’t expect that to happen while he’s playing behind a suspect offensive line.
The Jaguars play in one of the deepest divisions in the NFL and it seems unlikely they will be able to win more than five games this season. Consider taking the UNDER 5 (-110) here as the Jaguars could potentially hold the No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft.
Exact season wins: Bands
- 0-4 wins: -105
- 5-8 wins: -125
- 9-12 wins: +2000
- 13-16 wins: +10000
If you are thinking about betting on the under for wins for the Jaguars, consider making an exact wins bet. The 0-4 wins band pays -105, which is a considerably better value than the Under.
If you believe five wins it the right number of wins for the 2020 Jaguars, the 5-8 wins band pays out -125, which is still a better value than the Over win total due to a potential push.
Of the two bets, take the 0-4 wins band as it provides the more likely outcome for Jacksonville.
Exact wins: Best bet
The best value bet on the board is predicting the exact number of wins the Jaguars will have this season. With the Over/Under set at 5, you can bet on exactly 5 wins at +255. With the roster not being significantly worse than last season, it’s not hard to imagine the Jaguars defense will keep them in a few contests. Given the odds, take Jacksonville to win exactly 5 (+255) games this season.
