COVID-19 shutdown helped Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb

COVID-19 helped Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb focus on his rehab and recovery this offseason.

The COVID-19 shutdowns in the United States helped Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb focus on his rehab this offseason.

While recovering from an ACL injury, Chubb didn’t miss on-field work with his teammates because there wasn’t any on-field work in the spring.

“With [COVID-19] and everything getting shut down, it allowed me to really stay focused,” Chubb said during a Zoom conference call on July 31. “It was kind of the best that happened to me because it didn’t really feel like I was missing anything, and it didn’t feel like, ‘Ah man, I could be doing this, but I’m doing this and rehabbing.’ I got into a routine, and it just made me hungrier and ready to go.”

Chubb is almost completely healthy and he plans to be 100% healthy when Denver hosts the Titans in Week 1. Entering Year 2 under coach Vic Fangio, Chubb believes the Broncos’ defense can rank among the league’s top-five units in 2020.
