This was not going anywhere.
The Mountain West football schedule has changed for the 2020 season with two non-conference games to go along with eight league games. There will be a lot of adjusting to the schedule but one game will remain on the schedule with San Diego State keeping BYU on the schedule.
JD Wicker told @costaxtra1360 and @Judson1360 that BYU will remain on the schedule this year as one of two SDSU football non-conference opponents.
SDSU is still finalizing its 2nd non-conference opponent.

The two teams are scheduled to play on Nov. 14 and there is a chance it could be moved around as BYU needs to add games as they currently have seven on their schedule as they lost all of their Power 5 schedule.
The Aztecs can not even start playing games until Sept. 26.
This year’s game will be the 38th time these two teams have played with BYU leading the series 28-8-1 but San Diego State defeated the Cougars 13-3 last season. This game will be in Provo, Utah, and it will be the first time since 2010 these two have met in Provo.
There was no doubt that this game would move off of the schedule since Power 5 games are all canceled for the Group of 5, so keeping the Cougars makes sense with history and their status in college football.
