Alabama football countdown: 54 days until kickoff 2.0

We are only 54 days from Alabama football kicking off its season. With the cancelled USC game, we’re just not sure who the opponent with be.

Well, it’s official. The Southeastern Conference has announced that it would go to a 10-game, conference only schedule for the 2020. The other important aspect of the announcement was that the season would be delayed until Sept. 26.

That delay caused somewhat of a reset for Roll Tide Wire’s “Alabama football countdown to kickoff” series that has been going on for well over a month now. Don’t worry, though. We have hit that reset button and will continue on with the countdown.

Today is Aug. 3, which means we are now 54 days away from the new kickoff date, and while we don’t know the opponent yet for the Crimson Tide, it’s a date we can all look forward to together.

At this time, no one is wearing the No. 54 for Alabama. There are, however, several famous players throughout the school’s history who wore the number, including former linebacker Lee Roy Jordan, former defensive tackle Jesse Williams and more!
