Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow may have recently signed a four-year deal worth $36.2 million with the Cincinnati Bengals — but he’s not spending any of it right now.
The team is paying him 100% of his signing bonus upfront, meaning that a whopping $23.9 million is hitting his account.
When Burrow met with the media shortly after signing his contract, he said he wasn’t using his contract money and rather “accrue in my bank account.”

Rather, he’ll use money from his huge endorsement deals, which were reported to be with the likes of Lowe’s, Bose NERF and Fanatics near the draft.

This is a solid move by Burrow, who has obviously played things pretty well up to this point as far as anything to do with football is concerned.
Heading into his first season in the NFL, it will be interesting to see how well the talent he showed on the field in Baton Rouge is able to translate to the next level as the Bengals look to right the ship after a 2-14 finish to the 2019 season.
