It had to be the hair, right?
Soon after one of the worst shooting nights of his career — and even less long after buzzing off his luxurious quarantine curls — Boston Celtics All-Star small forward Jayson Tatum dismissed concerns he might have regressed over the COVID-19 hiatus.
A game after going 2-of-14 overall (with one of the buckets credited to him assigned rather than made) and 0-from-4 from beyond the arc against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Duke product went off against the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 34 points on 11-of-22 shooting, with a sizzling 5-of-8 from deep.
Add to that 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block, and it seems the St. Louis native has shook his yips.
Watch the video embedded above for all of Tatum’s electric response to his Bucks- induced funk on Sunday.
It was one of the better performances of the season, and one of his most efficient games of his career.
