The Boston Celtics snapped their losing streak and All-Star forward Jayson Tatum his cold shooting slump with a 128 – 124 nailbiter that looked to be a blowout for Boston early on.
Despite their big lead in the first half, Portland starting point guard Damian Lillard and the Blazers came on strong in the second half, nearly stealing the game from the Celtics.
But lights- out shooting from Boston and Tatum’s recovered accuracy were simply too much for the Trail Blazers’ best efforts.
In perhaps the most exciting game of the Celtics since the first exhibition seeding games began in the Disney restart, Boston fans got a treat.
With a big, confidence-building run to start the game capped off with the young core taking care of business late, there’s plenty to like from this game.
