Our friends at Draft Wire compiled a list of the best rookies for fantasy football this year. Surprise, surprise: Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson ranked in the top 10.
Draft Wire listed Jefferson as the fourth-best first-year wide receiver and 10th-best rookie overall for fantasy football this year.
It’s easy to see why Jefferson could be a high draft pick in fantasy football. He thrived with LSU and now he has a chance to take a lot of the reps that Stefon Diggs once had. The Vikings traded Diggs to the Bills this offseason.
Jefferson could have a high number of reps in his first season. Kirk Cousins will probably find Adam Thielen a little more often than Jefferson, but the rookie could still provide value for those who think the Vikings offense could be relatively successful in fantasy football this year.
It seems unrealistic for Jefferson to replace all of Diggs’ production, but if the Vikings want to progress further than they did last season, they will likely need Jefferson to have a pretty good year.
