Sunday will not be remembered as Jamal Crawford’s Brooklyn Nets debut. The guard has been ruled out ahead of his team’s matchup against the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
As was the case against the Orlando Magic on Friday, Crawford was ruled out against the Wizards due to conditioning. (The 40-year-old guard has not played in an NBA game since April of 2019.)
Crawford is the only member of the Nets who is unavailable against the Wizards. He has not been available for any of the Nets’ games in the Disney bubble yet, including their three scrimmages leading into seeding play.
On another personnel note, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn told reporters on a Zoom call before Sunday’s game that Lance Thomas will remain in Brooklyn’s starting lineup on Sunday and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot will come off the bench — even though the latter scored 24 points against the Magic on Friday — per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.
Brooklyn and Washington tip-off at 2 p.m on Sunday.
