The Boston Celtics very nearly beat the Milwaukee Bucks in Friday’s Disney restart meeting despite having All-Star point guard Kemba Walker on a minutes restriction.
With Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo getting some late star calls going his way, the fate of the first of eight so-called seeding games was effectively decided in the final moments of the fourth quarter.
But outstanding play from guards Marcus Smart (23 points), Jaylen Brown (22 points), Brad Wanamaker (14 points, 6 rebounds) and of course Walker (16 points) and forward Gordon Hayward (17 points, 9 boards and 6 assists) nearly put them over the top.
And that with All-Star small forward Jayson Tatum having one of the worst shooting games of his career.
