NFL Top 100 list: Ravens RB Mark Ingram earns No. 44 spot

After returning to his Pro Bowl form, Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram came in at No. 44 on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2020 list

Running back Mark Ingram returned to form last season, his first with the Baltimore Ravens. For that excellent season, Ingram came in at No. 44 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2020 list. That makes the sixth Ravens player to make the list thus far with 40 more players left to go.

One of the quieter moves of last offseason, it seems few expected Ingram to be as dominant as he was with the Ravens. Ingram came in at No. 80 on the 2019 edition of the NFL’s Top 100 list after being at No. 43 in 2018, seemingly pointing to an expected drop in production in Baltimore. But the Ravens got Pro Bowl play out of Ingram last year, seeing him accumulate 1,018 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 202 carries while adding another 247 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

Though Ingram wasn’t the leading rusher for Baltimore last season — that goes to quarterback Lamar Jackson — he was undeniably a big reason for the Ravens’ success on the ground. Baltimore broke a 41-year old rushing record thanks to Ingram, Jackson, and Gus Edwards; grinding defenses into the turf nearly every week.

Ingram will be 31 years old as he returns for his second season in Baltimore. Though the Ravens selected running back J.K. Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, seemingly providing an expiration date for Ingram’s time with the team, the Pro Bowl running back clearly has enough in the tank to be extremely dangerous this year.
