Joe Burrow will use the same locker as Andy Dalton and Carson Palmer as he gets ready to start his own era for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020.
The team’s official website let the fun detail slip:
“And down the next row rookie quarterback Joe Burrow gets a corner locker, too, the same one that belonged to Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton. Except now there’s an empty locker between him and wide receiver Tyler Boyd.”
Dalton left the team earlier this offseason as the Bengals ushered in a new era. He quickly turned around and signed with the Dallas Cowboys to serve as Dak Prescott’s backup.
Bengals fans don’t need many details when it comes to how Palmer’s tenure with the team ended — but they might be interested to know Palmer himself is a Burrow fan and thinks he can take the team places.
Unlike the surroundings for Dalton and Palmer, Burrow’s locker won’t have anyone next to him as the team enacts social distancing measures by using multiple locker rooms.
By Burrow’s sophomore season, things might start to resemble the typical locker room setup again. Either way, Burrow’s in the driver’s seat and the franchise quarterback’s reserved space is now his.
