Matchups between the two this season

The Thunder dropped the first two games against Portland this season before coming back and winning the next two, evening the regular season series at two wins apiece.

Star Trail Blazer guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have played very well against Oklahoma City this season. The two have combined to average almost 47 points per game in the three they played together, and in the game McCollum missed, Lillard put up 34 points.

Point guard Chris Paul has scored above his season usual against the Blazers, averaging 21.75 points in the four games and dropping 30 in the game without McCollum.

Center Steven Adams has not been able to get going against the Blazers, failing to score above eight points in any of the three matchups.

Trail Blazers’ season

A year after making the Western Conference Finals, the Trail Blazers aren’t even one of the top eight teams in the west.

With a 29-37 record, Portland will be clawing to keep position in what is currently a three-team tie for ninth place with another team, the San Antonio Spurs, just half a game back.

The Trail Blazers were unable to regain its form after a roster transformation due to offseason moves and injuries.

Enes Kanter, Al-Farouq Aminu, Seth Curry, Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard, all of whom played consistent minutes in the playoffs, are no longer on the Portland roster.

Injuries haven’t helped the team, either. Rodney Hood is out after undergoing a left Achilles surgery.

Center Jusuf Nurkic missed the whole season and big man Zach Collins missed all but three games, but both are back for the bubble.

The Thunder will get a look at a team with two dynamic guards, and Nurkic, Collins and Hasssan Whiteside can put pressure on Steven Adams to perform.
