The Indianapolis Colts placed safety Julian Blackmon on the active/Non-football injury list, the team announced Monday.
This move was to be somewhat expected as Blackmon is still working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered in December during his time with Utah.
The NFI list won’t impact Blackmon in a season-long manner as long as his recovery stays on the current timeline. As soon as he’s ready to return, he can come off of the list and will still count toward the 90-man roster.
Blackmon was a third-round pick with the Colts in the 2020 NFL Draft. Even though the Colts have both Malik Hooker and Khari Willis under contract through the 2020 season, Blackmon is expected to have a solid role once he returns from his ACL rehab.
