The Boston Celtics looked much more like their old selves as they dispatched the Phoenix Suns 117 – 103 in Sunday’s scrimmage exhibition.
The friendly was the second of three such tune-up games for the Celtics as they work their way back to game shape for the 2019-20 NBA restart hosted at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
All-Star point guard Kemba Walker looked to have regained the bounce in his step after a long layoff and sore knee, while star shooting guard Jaylen Brown looked the perfect compliment to All-Star small forward Jayson Tatum.
Defense was improved even though it still needs work, and some promising growth from the Celtics bench on both sides of the ball could be seen.
Watch the game embedded above for yourself, with all the extraneous moments cut for your viewing pleasure; Boston will next face the Houston Rockets at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday night for their final exhibition scrimmage of three.
