For the first time this offseason, the Raiders have officially signed a draft pick. The team has officially inked cornerback Damon Arnette to his deal.
The 19th overall pick is signed a four-year, $13.4 million deal with a fifth-year option.
Arnette, a 6-foot, 195-pound cornerback out of Ohio State, was selected 19th overall by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The 6-0, 195-pounder appeared in 53 games over the past four season at Ohio State where he put up five career interceptions, 27 pass breakups, and 140 combined tackles (104 solo). Arnette was a three-time All-Big Ten selection while helping the program reach the College Football Playoffs two times in 2016 and 2019.
As a senior in 2019, Arnette played in 13 games and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors. He posted 35 tackles (27), registered one interception that was returned for a touchdown and also forced one fumble.
Arnette becomes the first official signing by the team out of a total seven draft picks. Previous reports had the team agreeing to terms with fellow first round pick Henry Ruggs III but a deal has yet to be officially announced.
