Vikings WR Adam Thielen ‘really excited about the depth’ at wide receiver

See what Vikings wide receiver told ESPN regarding the Minnesota wide receiver room.

Minnesota traded Stefon Diggs — the team’s leading receiver from 2019 — to the Bills this offseason.

But Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is not deterred. He thinks the wide receiver group could surprise people next season. Here’s what he told ESPN (H/T NFL.com) regarding the wide receiver room:

“That’s the NFL,” Thielen said of the Diggs trade. “Your team changes year to year. Your room changes, the receiver room is going to change year to year. I’m actually just really excited about the depth of that room. Nobody really probably even knows about the depth of our room, and the guys that we’ve got coming in. But I’ve been around a few of those guys, been able to train with them and work out with them. I’m just really excited about our room. Whether it be young guys or some veterans that we added. It’s going to be different, but it’s going to be good.”

Minnesota used one of the picks acquired in the Diggs trade to draft Justin Jefferson, a wide receiver out of LSU. Jefferson is presumably the wide receiver two next season, unless someone like Bisi Johnson, Chad Beebe or Tajae Sharpe can surprise people and take the spot from him.

That wide receiver group, which also includes K.J. Osborn, Quartney Davis and others, will try to go about replacing the production Diggs left behind.
