2022 Wisconsin commit Braelon Allen ‘already on it’ when it comes to recruiting other players to join him

The future Badger is ready to help bring in talent to join him

Wisconsin football got off to a tremendous start in the 2022 class when S Braelon Allen committed to the Badgers on July 14.

Allen, who has starred at Fond Du Lac High School, is the first highly touted Wisconsin class of 2022 recruit to announce his commitment. As the torchbearer for this UW class of 2022 and for the top Wisconsin 2022 high school stars, the future Badger has a chance to make an impact on the decisions of his peers.

Early commits have had major impacts for Wisconsin in the recruiting process before, most recently in 2021 with QB Deacon Pe’a Hill. Hill, along with others in the class of 2021, took the lead in helping to bring in star recruits by setting up Zoom calls with targets, taking to Twitter, and staying in constant contact with players that UW were/are trying to land in 2021. The results? The class of 2021 is the highest-ranked recruiting class in Wisconsin football’s modern history.

Allen is ready to have a similar impact on his class of 2022. “I’ve already been on it,” Allen told BadgersWire when asked about recruiting other targets. “My strategy right now is just to pick them off one by one. I’m working on one guy right now and I think he’s getting pretty close. I got a little ‘hit list’ going on.”

What is Allen’s pitch when trying to sell top recruits on the Badgers? “It’s a simple formula. Where else do you want to be? We are going to win a national championship and if you want to be a part of that, come to Madison,” said Allen.

With a class of 2022 in Wisconsin that has six four-star recruits at the top of the board according to 247Sports, targeting the in-state talent has been an early focus for the Badgers, and led them to a commitment from Allen. Now, the star safety is ready to help convince fellow in-state high school stars that Madison is the place to be.

“Like I tell the in-state guys, I don’t think there would be anything better than a Wisconsin team lead by six in-state recruits winning a national championship,” Allen told BadgersWire. “We are right there.”

If Wisconsin can bring the top players in the Badger state together in 2022, the sky should be the limit.
