The Tennessee Titans have been getting a fair amount of respect in power rankings from different outlets, and Pro Football Talk is the latest to give Tennessee some credit.
In PFT’s power rankings, the Titans land at No. 8 on the list and are the fourth-highest-ranked team from the AFC. No AFC South team earned a better ranking than the Titans, also.

It’s understandable why the Titans are doing so well in numerous power rankings.
After a slow 2-4 start to the 2019 campaign that saw the offense average just 16.3 points per contest, Tennessee turned things around in a big way after naming Ryan Tannehill the new starting quarterback.
The Titans would go on a 7-3 run in the final 10 games of the regular season and looked like a completely different team offensively in the process, which is why simply pointing to the team’s 9-7 finish doesn’t do it justice.
Tannehill and Co. became one of the most explosive offense in the NFL in that span and averaged a sensational 30.4 points per game. That propelled the Titans into the playoffs, where they were able to make a deep run all the way to the AFC Championship Game.
In 2020, The Titans are returning much of the same team that had so much success last season, including nine of 11 starters on defense, and 10 of 11 starters on offense. As a result, Tennessee has serious Super Bowl aspirations.
And, in a season in which there is so much uncertainty and less opportunities to prepare, the Titans’ approach to “running it back” gives them an advantage over teams that are trying to integrate several new parts.
