“Before we start, guys, my answer is going to be ‘Justice for Breonna Taylor.’ That’s going to be my answer for everything, so I’m just letting you guys know that now,” explained Boston Celtics veteran guard Marcus Smart at Tuesday’s media availability session at the Disney NBA campus.
“Justice for Breonna Taylor,” the Flower Mound native reiterated, invoking the name of a 26-year-old emergency medical technician shot to death in her own home by police executing a controversial “no-knock” warrant in Louisville Kentucky this past March.
The officers responsible have yet to be charged with any crime in the incident, infuriating many around the U.S. and world.

“So, if I ask you about team defense, that’s going to be your answer?” asked the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy.
“Justice for Breonna Taylor,” replied the Texan defensive stalwart.
NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin asked, “Marcus, C.J. McCollum said some players were on a call with Breonna’s mother a few days ago, were you on that call?”
“I was,” he replied, “and the least I can say is ‘justice for Breonna Taylor.'”

“Anything specific?” Chin followed up.
“Justice for Breonna Taylor,” came the reply again. “That’s my answer to everything. You can go [ahead] and ask, but my answer is going to be, ‘justice for Breonna Taylor.’ That’s my answer to every question. You guys can keep asking, but that’s the only answer you’re going to get today.”
Justice for Breonna Taylor is on many a person’s mind today, last week, last month.
Today, it is also the only answer we’ll be getting, at least from Marcus Smart.
“Justice for Breonna Taylor”.
